Spring 2013 Day 28:
On Friday 17 May in the NBA, settled series resulted in the second open slate in the 2013 NBA playoff season. The Indiana Pacers host the New York Knickerbockers in Game 6 of their series on Saturday; the San Antonio Spurs host the Memphis Grizzlies in Game 1 of the NBA Semifinals (Western Conference Finals) on Sunday. On Friday 17 May in the NHL, the Pittsburgh Penguins hosted and defeated the Ottawa Senators 4-goals-3 for a 2-games-nil series lead. All four NHL Quarterfinals series will be in action Saturday and Sunday.

One and Three:
The Pittsburgh Penguins have defeated the Ottawa Senators 4-goals-1 and 4-goals-3 to take a 2-games-nil series lead. Only one previous best-of-7 NHL playoff series began with a 4-goals-1 Game 1 win and a 4-goals-3 Game 2 win – that series was in the 1993 NHL Semifinals, in which the Montreal Canadiens opened up with 4-goals-1 and 4-goals-3 victories over the New York Islanders (Montreal would win that series in five games and then win the 1993 NHL championship).

Nix in Six:
While the New York Knickerbockers strive to even their NBA Quarterfinals series with the Indiana Pacers at 3-games-all in their upcoming sixth game, the Golden State Warriors lost Game 6 and their Quarterfinals series to the San Antonio Spurs. The loss extends the Golden State Quarterfinals-series losing streak to six; this streak began in 1977.
