SERIES NOTES:

After Game 7: The Cleveland Cavaliers hosted and defeated the Toronto Raptors 114-pts-102 to complete a 4-games-3 best-of-7 MLB/NBA/NHL playoff series 1635 victory. With the series 1635 win, the Cleveland Cavaliers improve their best-of-7 NBA playoff series record to 26-14 overall and 12-1 in the Preliminary round. With the series 1635 loss, the Toronto Raptors see their best-of-7 NBA playoff series record fall to 9-11 overall and 5-6 in the Preliminary round. The win order for the victorious Cleveland Cavaliers in series 1635 was WWLLWLW: Series 1635 thus becomes the sixth NBA Preliminary-round series, the 24th NBA series (all rounds), and the 37th MLB/NBA/NHL series (all rounds) to follow that win order to completion. Once before, in series 1569 over the Orlando Magic in the 2024 NBA Preliminary round, did the Cleveland Cavaliers post a WWLLWLW @ HHVVHVH win/site order to win a best-of-7 NBA playoff series by 'holding serve at home' for the entirety of the series. Ironically, the Toronto Raptors once previously fell prey to the Boston Celtics posting a WWLLWLW win order, but with a VVHHVHV site order for the Celtics; the series was series 1443 in the 2020 NBA Quarterfinals, but the actual sites were effective neutral sites due to COVID-19 quarantine.

After Game 6: The Toronto Raptors hosted and topped the Cleveland Cavaliers 112-pts-110(OT) to tie best-of-7 MLB/NBA/NHL playoff series 1635 at 3-games-all. When tied 3-games-all in a best-of-7 MLB/NBA/NHL playoff series, the Cleveland Cavaliers have a Game 7 record of 6-2 (with an active four-Game 7 winning streak), while the Toronto Raptors have a Game 7 record of 3-3. At home, the Cleveland Cavaliers have a 4-0 best-of-7 NBA playoff Game 7 record. On the road, the Toronto Raptors have a 0-1 best-of-7 NBA playoff Game 7 record. Once before had the Cleveland Cavaliers posted a win/site order of WWLLWL @ HHVVHV in a home-hold-serve series: In series 1569, Cleveland did so and then won Game 7 at home against the Orlando Magic in their 2024 NBA Preliminary-round series.

After Game 5: The Cleveland Cavaliers hosted and defeated the Toronto Raptors 125-pts-120 to take a best-of-7 MLB/NBA/NHL playoff series 1635 lead of 3-games-2. When leading a best-of-7 MLB/NBA/NHL playoff series 3-games-2, the Cleveland Cavaliers have a series record of 10-1 (with an active seven-series winning streak) and a Game 6 record of 6-5. When trailing a best-of-7 MLB/NBA/NHL playoff series 3-games-2, the Toronto Raptors have a series record of 0-5 and a Game 6 record of 2-3. Leading a best-of-7 NBA playoff series 3-games-2, the Cleveland Cavaliers sustained their sole series loss in series 980 (to the Detroit Pistons in the 2006 NBA Quarterfinals).

After Game 4: The Toronto Raptors hosted and topped the Cleveland Cavaliers 93-pts-89 to tie best-of-7 MLB/NBA/NHL playoff series 1635 at 2-games-all. When tied 2-games-all in a best-of-7 MLB/NBA/NHL playoff series, the Cleveland Cavaliers have a series record of 9-6 (with an active four-series winning streak) and a Game 5 record of 9-6, while the Toronto Raptors have a series record of 6-4 and a Game 5 record of 7-3. Irrespective of previous game outcomes, the Toronto Raptors now have an active eight-Game 4 winning streak in best-of-7 NBA playoff series, in the wake of their series 1635 Game 4 victory against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Once before were Toronto and Cleveland knotted 2-games-all in a best-of-7 NBA playoff series: In series 1314, in the 2016 NBA Semifinals, the Raptors and Cavaliers were tied 2-games-all; Cleveland then won Games 5 and 6 to win the series, and then won the 2016 NBA championship.

After Game 3: The Toronto Raptors hosted and defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers 126-pts-104 to reduce the Cleveland Cavaliers best-of-7 MLB/NBA/NHL series 1635 lead to 2-games-1. When leading a best-of-7 MLB/NBA/NHL playoff series 2-games-1, the Cleveland Cavaliers have a series record of 8-2 and a Game 4 record of 4-6. When trailing a best-of-7 MLB/NBA/NHL playoff series 2-games-1, the Toronto Raptors have a series record of 3-5 and a Game 4 record of 6-2 (with an active six-Game 4 winning streak). Irrespective of previous game outcomes, the Toronto Raptors have an active seven-Game 4 winning streak in best-of-7 NBA playoff series. In best-of-7 NBA playoff series history (1947-2025, inclusive), teams such as the Cleveland Cavaliers in series 1635 which post a WWL@HHV win/site order with each game decided by 10+ points had a 28-6 (.824) series record.

After Game 2: The Cleveland Cavaliers hosted and bested the Toronto Raptors 115-pts-105 to take a best-of-7 MLB/NBA/NHL playoff series 1635 lead of 2-games-nil. When leading a best-of-7 MLB/NBA/NHL playoff series 2-games-nil, the Cleveland Cavaliers have a series record of 17-0 and a Game 3 record of 11-6. When trailing a best-of-7 MLB/NBA/NHL playoff series 2-games-nil, the Toronto Raptors have a series record of 1-7 and a Game 3 record of 4-4. With their series 1635 Game 2 victory, the Cleveland Cavaliers have now defeated the Toronto Raptors in twelve consecutive best-of-7 NBA playoff games. Trailing a best-of-7 NBA playoff series 1-game-nil (as Toronto did prior to series 1635 Game 2), the Toronto Raptors now have a four-Game 2 losing streak. Trailing a best-of-7 NBA playoff series 2-games-nil, the Toronto Raptors notched their sole series victory in series 1413, in the 2019 NBA Semifinals over the Milwaukee Bucks en route to the 2019 NBA championship.

After Game 1: The Cleveland Cavaliers hosted and defeated the Toronto Raptors 126-pts-113 to take a best-of-7 MLB/NBA/NHL playoff series 1635 lead of 1-game-nil. When leading a best-of-7 MLB/NBA/NHL playoff series 1-game-nil, the Cleveland Cavaliers have a series record of 19-1 (with an active 11-series winning streak) and a Game 2 record of 17-3 (with an active 11-Game 2 winning streak). When trailing a best-of-7 MLB/NBA/NHL playoff series 1-game-nil, the Toronto Raptors have a series record of 5-9 and a Game 2 record of 6-8. Leading a best-of-7 NBA playoff series 1-game-nil, the Cleveland Cavaliers have seen their Game 2 outcome presage their series outcome in their last 18 such series (17 wins, one loss). The Toronto Raptors now have a 0-4 Game 1 record against the Cleveland Cavaliers in best-of-7 NBA playoff series between the two teams.

Pre-series assessment: In the 2025-26 NBA regular season, the Cleveland Cavaliers finished six games ahead of the Toronto Raptors. From 1947 through the 2025 NBA Finals round, when NBA teams led their best-of-7 playoff series opponents by six regular-season games, they have posted a best-of-7 playoff series record of 25-5 (.833) in those series against those opponents. Best-of-7 MLB/NBA/NHL playoff series 1635 is the 40th best-of-7 NBA playoff series for the Cleveland Cavaliers, and the 20th for the Toronto Raptors. In best-of-7 NBA playoff series, the Cleveland Cavaliers have an all-rounds series record of 25-14, a Preliminary-round series record of 11-1, and a Game 1 record of 20-19, while the Toronto Raptors have an all-rounds series record of 9-10, a Preliminary-round series record of 5-5, and a Game 1 record of 5-14. Series 1635 is the fourth best-of-7 NBA playoff series meeting between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Toronto Raptors. In their previous three best-of-7 NBA playoff series meetings, the Cleveland Cavaliers defeated the Toronto Raptors in six games in the 2016 NBA Semifinals, and swept the Raptors from both the 2017 NBA Quarterfinals and the 2018 NBA Quarterfinals.
