SERIES NOTES:

After Game 7: The Golden State Warriors visited and defeated the Houston Rockets 103-pts-89 to complete a 4-games-3 best-of-7 MLB/NBA/NHL playoff series 1604 victory. With the series 1604 win, the Golden State Warriors improve their best-of-7 NBA playoff series record to 31-13 overall and 10-1 (with an active eight-Preliminary round series winning streak) in the Preliminary round. With the series 1604 loss, the Houston Rockets see their best-of-7 NBA playoff series record fall to 20-23 overall and 6-8 in the Preliminary round. The win order for the victorious Golden State Warriors in series 1604 was WLWWLLW: Series 1604 thus becomes the second NBA Preliminary-round series, the sixth NBA series (all rounds), and the 19th MLB/NBA/NHL series (all rounds) to follow that win order to completion.

After Game 6: The Houston Rockets visited and bested the Golden State Warriors 115-pts-107 to knot best-of-7 MLB/NBA/NHL playoff series 1604 at 3-games-all. When tied 3-games-all in a best-of-7 MLB/NBA/NHL playoff series, the Houston Rockets have a Game 7 record of 7-5, while the Golden State Warriors have a Game 7 record of 4-4. In Houston, the Rockets have a 5-2 Game 7 record (with one of the two losses to Golden State, in series 1381 in the 2018 NBA Semifinals); on the road, the Golden State Warriors have a 2-2 Game 7 record. Houston in series 1604 now attempts to become the first NBA team to surmount a 3-games-1 deficit for a series victory since series 1445, in which the Denver Nuggets did so against the Los Angeles Clippers in their 2020 NBA Quarterfinals series; since then, NBA teams leading 3-games-1 have a 35-series winning streak.

After Game 5: The Houston Rockets hosted and bested the Golden State Warriors 131-pts-116 to reduce the Golden State Warriors best-of-7 MLB/NBA/NHL series 1604 lead to 3-games-2. Leading a best-of-7 NBA playoff series WLWWL (as Golden State now does in series 1604), the Golden State Warriors have a 3-0 series record via a 3-0 Game 6 record; trailing such a series LWLLW (as Houston now does in series 1604), the Houston Rockets have a 1-0 series record and a 1-0 Game 6 record (and a 1-0 Game 7 record as well, for that matter).

After Game 4: The Golden State Warriors hosted and topped the Houston Rockets 109-pts-106 to take a best-of-7 MLB/NBA/NHL playoff series 1604 lead of 3-games-1.

After Game 3: The Golden State Warriors hosted and bested the Houston Rockets 104-pts-93 to take a best-of-7 MLB/NBA/NHL playoff series 1604 lead of 2-games-1.

After Game 2: The Houston Rockets hosted and bested the Golden State Warriors 109-pts-94 to tie best-of-7 MLB/NBA/NHL playoff series 1604 at 1-game-all.

After Game 1: The Golden State Warriors visited and topped the Houston Rockets 95-pts-85 to take a best-of-7 MLB/NBA/NHL playoff series 1604 lead of 1-game-nil.

Pre-series assessment: In the 2024-25 NBA regular season, the Houston Rockets finished four games ahead of the Golden State Warriors. From 1947 through the 2024 NBA Finals round, when NBA teams led their best-of-7 playoff series opponents by four regular-season games, they have posted a best-of-7 playoff series record of 31-14 (.689) in those series against those opponents. Best-of-7 MLB/NBA/NHL playoff series 1604 is the 43rd best-of-7 NBA playoff series for the Houston Rockets, and the 44th for the Golden State Warriors. In best-of-7 NBA playoff series, the Houston Rockets have an all-rounds series record of 20-22, a Preliminary-round series record of 6-7, and a Game 1 record of 20-22, while the Golden State Warriors have an all-rounds series record of 30-13, a Preliminary-round series record of 9-1, and a Game 1 record of 29-14. Series 1604 is the fifth best-of-7 NBA playoff series meeting between the Houston Rockets and the Golden State Warriors. In their previous four best-of-7 NBA playoff series meetings, the Golden State Warriors defeated the Houston Rockets on all four occasions; after those four Houston ousters, Golden State would proceed to reach the NBA Finals on all four occasions, winning the NBA championship twice.
