SERIES NOTES:

After Game 7: The Los Angeles Dodgers hosted and topped the Atlanta Braves 4-runs-3 to complete a 4-games-3 best-of-7 MLB/NBA/NHL playoff series 1450 victory. With the series 1450 win, the Los Angeles Dodgers improve their best-of-7 MLB playoff series record to 9-11 overall and 4-5 in the Semifinals round. With the series 1450 loss, the Atlanta Braves see their best-of-7 MLB playoff series record fall to 6-9 overall and 5-5 in the Semifinals round. The win order for the victorious Los Angeles Dodgers in series 1450 was LLWLWWW: Series 1450 thus becomes the second MLB Semifinals-round series, the fourth MLB series (all rounds), and the eleventh MLB/NBA/NHL series (all rounds) to follow that win order to completion. With their series 1450 victory, the Los Angeles Dodgers surmount a 3-games-1 deficit in a best-of-7 MLB playoff series for the first time in seven tries, and likewise surmount a 3-games-2 deficit in such a series for the first time in seven tries. Prior to series 1450, MLB teams trailing a best-of-7 playoff series 3-games-1 had a 13-75 (.148) series record with a five-series losing streak.

After Game 6: The Los Angeles Dodgers hosted and defeated the Atlanta Braves 3-runs-1 to tie best-of-7 MLB/NBA/NHL playoff series 1450 at 3-games-all. When tied 3-games-all in a best-of-7 MLB/NBA/NHL playoff series, the Los Angeles Dodgers have a Game 7 record of 3-1, while the Atlanta Braves have a Game 7 record of 3-1. The Los Angeles Dodgers have a 1-1 Game 7 record at home, having defeated the New York Mets in Game 7 of series 524 (in the 1988 MLB Semifinals) in Los Angeles, and having lost at home to the Houston Astros in Game 7 of series 1352 (in the 2017 MLB Finals). The Atlanta Braves have a 1-1 Game 7 record on the road: The win occurred in series 599 (in the 1991 MLB Semifinals over the Pirates in Pittsburgh); the loss occurred in series 600 (in the 1991 MLB Finals in Minnesota to the Twins). The win/site order for series 1450 through six games for the Los Angeles Dodgers was LLWLWW @ HHVVVH: Only two previous best-of-7 MLB/NBA/NHL playoff series had followed this win/site order through six games: Series 261, by the Cincinnati Reds in the 1972 MLB Finals; series 458, by the Kansas City Royals in the 1985 MLB Finals. The Cincinnati Reds lost their 1972 MLB Finals Game 7 to the Oakland Athletics, which thus offer a favorable precedent for the Atlanta Braves in series 1450. The Kansas City Royals won their 1985 MLB Finals Game 7 over the St. Louis Cardinals, so those Royals offer a favorable precedent for the Los Angeles Dodgers in series 1450.

After Game 5: The Los Angeles Dodgers visited and topped the Atlanta Braves 7-runs-3 to drop the Atlanta Braves best-of-7 MLB/NBA/NHL series 1450 lead to 3-games-2. When leading a best-of-7 MLB/NBA/NHL playoff series 3-games-2, the Atlanta Braves have a series record of 3-1 and a Game 6 record of 2-2. When trailing a best-of-7 MLB/NBA/NHL playoff series 3-games-2, the Los Angeles Dodgers have a series record of 0-6 and a Game 6 record of 1-5. Leading a best-of-7 MLB playoff series 3-games-1 (as the Atlanta Braves did prior to series 1450 Game 5), Atlanta sees its Game 5 record slip to 0-4. The sole Atlanta Braves series loss in the wake of a 3-games-2 best-of-7 MLB playoff series lead occurred in their first such series ahead 3-games-2 - series 600, to the Minnesota Twins in the 1991 MLB Finals.

After Game 4: The Atlanta Braves hosted and vanquished the Los Angeles Dodgers 10-runs-2 to take a best-of-7 MLB/NBA/NHL playoff series 1450 lead of 3-games-1. When leading a best-of-7 MLB/NBA/NHL playoff series 3-games-1, the Atlanta Braves have a series record of 3-0 and a Game 5 record of 0-3. When trailing a best-of-7 MLB/NBA/NHL playoff series 3-games-1, the Los Angeles Dodgers have a series record of 0-6 and a Game 5 record of 2-4. Series 1450 Games 3-4 become the first back-to-back best-of-7 MLB Semifinals games in which at least one team produces a double-digit run total since series 1284, in which the Kansas City Royals and Toronto Blue Jays did so in Games 3-4 of the 2015 American League Championship Series. The six-run sixth inning by the Atlanta Braves in series 1450 Game 4 is the highest-scoring sixth inning by one team in a best-of-7 MLB playoff game (all rounds) since series 988, in which the New York Mets plated six runs in the top of the sixth inning in St. Louis against the Cardinals in Game 4 of the 2006 National League Championship Series.

After Game 3: The Los Angeles Dodgers visited and bested the Atlanta Braves 15-runs-3 to drop the Atlanta Braves best-of-7 MLB/NBA/NHL series 1450 lead to 2-games-1. When leading a best-of-7 MLB/NBA/NHL playoff series 2-games-1, the Atlanta Braves have a series record of 3-2 and a Game 4 record of 2-3. When trailing a best-of-7 MLB/NBA/NHL playoff series 2-games-1, the Los Angeles Dodgers have a series record of 4-7 and a Game 4 record of 5-6. The Los Angeles Dodgers plated eleven runs in the first inning of series 1450 Game 3, thus setting a record for the most runs in any inning of a best-of-7 MLB playoff game. The previous record for the most runs by one team in any inning of a best-of-7 MLB playoff game was ten runs, set in the bottom of the seventh inning of series 22 (1929 MLB Finals) Game 4 by the Philadelphia Athletics against the Chicago Cubs, tied in the top of the third inning of series 201 (1968 MLB Finals) Game 6 by the Detroit Tigers at St. Louis against the Cardinals, and tied again in the bottom of the seventh inning of series 870 (2002 MLB Semifinals) Game 5 by the Anaheim Angels against the Minnesota Twins.

After Game 2: The Atlanta Braves visited and defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers 8-runs-7 to take a best-of-7 MLB/NBA/NHL playoff series 1450 lead of 2-games-nil. When leading a best-of-7 MLB/NBA/NHL playoff series 2-games-nil, the Atlanta Braves have a series record of 4-1 and a Game 3 record of 2-3. When trailing a best-of-7 MLB/NBA/NHL playoff series 2-games-nil, the Los Angeles Dodgers have a series record of 2-4 and a Game 3 record of 5-1 (with an active four-Game 3 winning streak). Leading a best-of-7 MLB playoff series 2-games-nil, the Atlanta Braves suffered their sole series loss in series 722, in the 1996 MLB Finals to the New York Yankees.

After Game 1: The Atlanta Braves visited and outscored the Los Angeles Dodgers 5-runs-1 to take a best-of-7 MLB/NBA/NHL playoff series 1450 lead of 1-game-nil. When leading a best-of-7 MLB/NBA/NHL playoff series 1-game-nil, the Atlanta Braves have a series record of 5-2 and a Game 2 record of 5-2. When trailing a best-of-7 MLB/NBA/NHL playoff series 1-game-nil, the Los Angeles Dodgers have a series record of 5-8 and a Game 2 record of 7-6. With their series 1450 Game 1 victory, the Atlanta Braves win their first best-of-7 MLB playoff Game 1 since series 796, in which they defeated the New York Mets in Game 1 of the 1999 MLB Semifinals (National League Championship Series).

Pre-series assessment: In the 2020 MLB regular season, the Los Angeles Dodgers finished eight games ahead of the Atlanta Braves. From 1905 through the 2019 MLB Finals round, when MLB teams led their best-of-7 playoff series opponents by eight regular-season games, they have posted a best-of-7 playoff series record of 3-2 (.600) in those series against those opponents. MLB/NBA/NHL best-of-7 playoff series 1450 is the 20th best-of-7 MLB playoff series for the Los Angeles Dodgers, and the 15th for the Atlanta Braves. In best-of-7 MLB playoff series, the Los Angeles Dodgers have an all-rounds series record of 8-11, a Semifinals-round series record of 3-5, and a Game 1 record of 6-13, while the Atlanta Braves have an all-rounds series record of 6-8, a Semifinals-round series record of 5-4, and a Game 1 record of 7-7. Series 1450 is the first best-of-7 MLB playoff series meeting between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Atlanta Braves.
