With the series 1359 win, the Vegas Golden Knights improve their best-of-7 NHL playoff series record to 1-0 overall and 1-0 in the Preliminary round. With the series 1359 loss, the Los Angeles Kings see their best-of-7 NHL playoff series record fall to 18-22 overall and 8-10 in the Preliminary round. The win order for the victorious Vegas Golden Knights in series 1359 was WWWW: Series 1359 thus becomes the 31st NHL Preliminary-round series, the 116th NHL series (all rounds), and the 223rd MLB/NBA/NHL series (all rounds) to follow that win order to completion. Series 1359 is only the fifth best-of-7 NHL playoff series sweep in which the margin of victory in each of the four games was the minimum single goal. The Los Angeles Kings have now lost six consecutive best-of-7 NHL playoff games, beginning with series 1294 Game 4 (to the San Jose Sharks in the 2016 NHL Preliminary round).

After Game 3: The Vegas Golden Knights visited and defeated the Los Angeles Kings 3-goals-2 to take a best-of-7 MLB/NBA/NHL playoff series 1359 lead of 3-games-nil. When leading a best-of-7 MLB/NBA/NHL playoff series 3-games-nil, the Vegas Golden Knights have a series record of 0-0 and a Game 4 record of 0-0. When trailing a best-of-7 MLB/NBA/NHL playoff series 3-games-nil, the Los Angeles Kings have a series record of 1-7 and a Game 4 record of 3-5. The Los Angeles Kings are the last MLB/NBA/NHL team to fall behind three-games-nil in a best-of-7 playoff series and then win the series, having done so in series 1228 in the 2014 NHL Preliminary round against the San Jose Sharks.
