SERIES NOTES:

After Game 7: The Toronto Raptors hosted and bested the Indiana Pacers 89-pts-84 to complete a 4-games-3 best-of-7 MLB/NBA/NHL playoff series 1303 victory. With the series 1303 win, the Toronto Raptors improve their best-of-7 NBA playoff series record to 1-5 overall and 1-4 in the Preliminary round. With the series 1303 loss, the Indiana Pacers see their best-of-7 NBA playoff series record fall to 14-14 overall and 5-4 in the Preliminary round. The win order for the victorious Toronto Raptors in series 1303 was LWWLWLW: Series 1303 thus becomes the fourth NBA Preliminary-round series, the 12th NBA series (all rounds), and the 27th MLB/NBA/NHL series (all rounds) to follow that win order to completion. Ironically, the first NBA team to post a LWWLWLW win order in a best-of-7 NBA Preliminary-round series was the team on the losing side of it in series 1303 - the Indiana Pacers (in series 941, in the 2005 NBA Preliminary round, over the Boston Celtics).

After Game 6: The Indiana Pacers hosted and defeated the Toronto Raptors 101-pts-83 to tie best-of-7 MLB/NBA/NHL playoff series 1303 at 3-games-all. When tied 3-games-all in a best-of-7 MLB/NBA/NHL playoff series, the Toronto Raptors have a Game 7 record of 0-2, while the Indiana Pacers have a Game 7 record of 3-4. The Indiana Pacers have a road-court Game 7 record of 2-4. The Toronto Raptors have a home-court Game 7 record of 0-1.

After Game 5: The Toronto Raptors hosted and defeated the Indiana Pacers 102-pts-99 to take a best-of-7 MLB/NBA/NHL playoff series 1303 lead of 3-games-2. When leading a best-of-7 MLB/NBA/NHL playoff series 3-games-2, the Toronto Raptors have a series record of 0-1 and a Game 6 record of 0-1. When trailing a best-of-7 MLB/NBA/NHL playoff series 3-games-2, the Indiana Pacers have a series record of 1-11 and a Game 6 record of 4-8. The host Toronto Raptors trailed by 13 points after three quarters of series 1303 Game 5. In the history of best-of-7 NBA playoff games since 1947, inclusive, home teams down 13 points after three quarters had a game record of only 2-33 (.057).

After Game 4: The Indiana Pacers hosted and vanquished the Toronto Raptors 100-pts-83 to tie best-of-7 MLB/NBA/NHL playoff series 1303 at 2-games-all. When tied 2-games-all in a best-of-7 MLB/NBA/NHL playoff series, the Toronto Raptors have a series record of 0-2 and a Game 5 record of 1-1, while the Indiana Pacers have a series record of 5-9 and a Game 5 record of 5-9. In best-of-7 MLB/NBA/NHL playoff series, teams posting a win/site order of LWWL @ HHVV through four games (as the Toronto Raptors have in series 1303) have an active three-series losing streak. For their part, the Indiana Pacers hope that the Raptors follow the precedent set by the 2012 edition of the Indiana Pacers, which opened series 1178 LWWL @ HHVV through the first four games, and lost that 2012 NBA Quarterfinals series to the eventual 2012 NBA champion Miami Heat.

After Game 3: The Toronto Raptors visited and topped the Indiana Pacers 101-pts-85 to take a best-of-7 MLB/NBA/NHL playoff series 1303 lead of 2-games-1. When leading a best-of-7 MLB/NBA/NHL playoff series 2-games-1, the Toronto Raptors have a series record of 0-1 and a Game 4 record of 0-1. When trailing a best-of-7 MLB/NBA/NHL playoff series 2-games-1, the Indiana Pacers have a series record of 1-9 and a Game 4 record of 7-3.

After Game 2: The Toronto Raptors hosted and topped the Indiana Pacers 98-pts-87 to knot best-of-7 MLB/NBA/NHL playoff series 1303 at 1-game-all. When tied 1-game-all in a best-of-7 MLB/NBA/NHL playoff series, the Toronto Raptors have a series record of 0-3 and a Game 3 record of 1-2, while the Indiana Pacers have a series record of 7-8 and a Game 3 record of 9-6.

After Game 1: The Indiana Pacers visited and bested the Toronto Raptors 100-pts-90 to take a best-of-7 MLB/NBA/NHL playoff series 1303 lead of 1-game-nil. When leading a best-of-7 MLB/NBA/NHL playoff series 1-game-nil, the Indiana Pacers have a series record of 10-3 and a Game 2 record of 7-6. When trailing a best-of-7 MLB/NBA/NHL playoff series 1-game-nil, the Toronto Raptors have a series record of 0-4 and a Game 2 record of 2-2. Toronto thus loses its fifth consecutive NBA playoff Game 1. Indiana trailed the Raptors in Toronto by five points after the first quarter of series 1303 Game 1: In the history of best-of-7 format NBA playoff games from 1947 through 2015, inclusive, road teams down five points after one quarter had a game record of only 30-131 (.186).

Pre-series assessment: In the 2015-16 NBA regular season, the Toronto Raptors finished 11 games ahead of the Indiana Pacers. From 1947 through the 2015 NBA Finals round, when NBA teams led their best-of-7 playoff series opponents by 11 regular-season games, they have posted a best-of-7 playoff series record of 23-5 (.821) with an active five-series winning streak in those series against those opponents. MLB/NBA/NHL best-of-7 playoff series 1303 is the sixth best-of-7 NBA playoff series for the Toronto Raptors, and the 28th for the Indiana Pacers. In best-of-7 NBA playoff series, the Toronto Raptors have an all-rounds series record of 0-5, a Preliminary-round series record of 0-4, and a Game 1 record of 1-4 (with an active four-Game 1 losing streak), while the Indiana Pacers have an all-rounds series record of 14-13, a Preliminary-round series record of 5-3, and a Game 1 record of 13-14. Series 1303 is the first best-of-7 NBA playoff series meeting between the Toronto Raptors and the Indiana Pacers.
