SERIES NOTES:

After Game 5: The Memphis Grizzlies visited and defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder 88-pts-84 for a 4-games-1 win of MLB/NBA/NHL best-of-7 playoff series 1213. With the series 1213 win, the Memphis Grizzlies improve their best-of-7 NBA playoff series record to 3-5 overall and 1-1 in the Quarterfinals. With the series 1213 loss, the best-of-7 NBA playoff series record of the Oklahoma City Thunder falls to 6-4 overall and 2-1 in the Quarterfinals. The win order for the victorious Memphis Grizzlies in series 1213 was LWWWW: Series 1213 thus becomes the sixth NBA Quarterfinals series, the 19th NBA series (all rounds), and the 56th MLB/NBA/NHL series (all rounds) to follow that win order to completion (the Miami Heat won their Quarterfinals series against the Chicago Bulls earlier on 15 May 2013 by the same LWWWW win order). The sum of the victory margins of the five games in series 1213 was 24 points, which sets a new best-of-7 NBA Quarterfinals round record for series taking five games for lowest sum of victory margins. The previous such record was 27 points, set in 1982 in the Seattle Supersonics – San Antonio Spurs series and tied in 2002 in the Los Angeles Lakers – San Antonio Spurs series. (By contrast, Game 2 alone in the Miami Heat – Chicago Bulls series in the 2013 NBA Quarterfinals featured a 37-point margin of victory.)

In the history of best-of-7 NBA playoff games, series 1213 Game 3 thus becomes the 14th in which one team scored the same number of points in the first, second, and third quarters, and the fourth in which one team scored the same number of points in the first, second, and third quarters, and scored one less point in the fourth quarter (the Boston Celtics, in series 420 Game 1 in the 1983 Quarterfinals; the Houston Rockets, in series 469 Game 3 in the 1986 Quarterfinals; the San Antonio Spurs, in series 1208 Game 4 in the 2013 Preliminary round).
