SERIES NOTES:

After Game 6: The Indiana Pacers hosted and defeated the New York Knickerbockers 106-pts-99 to achieve a 4-games-2 win of MLB/NBA/NHL best-of-7 playoff series 1212. With the series 1212 win, the Indiana Pacers improve their best-of-7 NBA playoff series record to 12-11 overall and 7-2 in the Quarterfinals round. With the series 1212 loss, the best-of-7 NBA playoff series record of the New York Knickerbockers falls to 18-26 overall and 10-12 in the Quarterfinals. The win order for the victorious Indiana Pacers in series 1212 was WLWWLW: Series 1212 thus becomes the seventh NBA Quarterfinals series, the 22nd NBA series (all rounds), and the 43rd MLB/NBA/NHL series (all rounds) to follow that win order to completion. The Indiana Pacers also contributed a WLWWLW win to the six previous NBA Quarterfinals series to follow that win order to completion, doing so in series 667 against the Atlanta Hawks in the 1994 NBA Quarterfinals. The completion of series 1212 thus brings to a conclusion the 2013 NBA Quarterfinals – the first NBA Quarterfinals round not to feature a seventh game since 2010.

After Game 5: The New York Knickerbockers hosted and defeated the Indiana Pacers 85-pts-75 to reduce the Indiana MLB/NBA/NHL best-of-7 playoff series 1212 lead to 3-games-2. When leading a best-of-7 NBA playoff series 3-games-2, the Indiana Pacers have a 7-1 series record (with an active six-series winning streak) and a 5-3 Game 6 record. When trailing a best-of-7 NBA playoff series 3-games-2, the New York Knickerbockers have a 2-10 series record and a 7-5 Game 6 record. The last best-of-7 NBA playoff series won by the New York Knickerbockers upon trailing 3-games-2 was series 814, over the Miami Heat in the 2000 NBA Quarterfinals. In best-of-7 NBA Quarterfinals history, the last team to lead after five games with a win/site order of WLWWL @ VVHHV (as Indiana now does) but lose the series: The New York Knickerbockers, in series 739 to the Miami Heat in 1997. So it is that the 1997 Miami Heat offer a favorable precedent to the 2013 Knicks, through their defeat of the 1997 Knicks.

After Game 4: The Indiana Pacers hosted and defeated the New York Knickerbockers 93-pts-82 to take a 3-games-1 lead in MLB/NBA/NHL best-of-7 playoff series 1212. When leading a best-of-7 NBA playoff series 3-games-1, the Indiana Pacers have a 5-0 series record and a 2-3 Game 5 record. When trailing a best-of-7 NBA playoff series 3-games-1, the New York Knickerbockers have a 0-12 series record and a 4-8 Game 5 record (with an active four-Game 5 losing streak). In the history of best-of-7 NBA Quarterfinals series, teams such as the Indiana Pacers which post a WLWW @ VVHH win/site order have a 10-1 series record: The sole loss was sustained by the New York Knickerbockers to the Miami Heat in 1997 (in series 739); so it is that the 1997 Miami Heat, through their defeat of the 1997 New York Knickerbockers, provide a favorable series comeback precedent for the 2013 Knickerbockers.

After Game 3: The Indiana Pacers hosted and defeated the New York Knickerbockers 82-pts-71 to take a 2-games-1 lead in MLB/NBA/NHL best-of-7 playoff series 1212. When leading a best-of-7 NBA playoff series 2-games-1, the Indiana Pacers have an 8-3 series record and a 4-7 Game 4 record. When trailing a best-of-7 NBA playoff series 2-games-1, the New York Knickerbockers have a 3-16 series record and a 9-10 Game 4 record.

After Game 2: The Indiana Pacers visited and lost to the New York Knickerbockers 105-pts-79 to tie MLB/NBA/NHL best-of-7 playoff series 1212 at 1-game-all. When tied in a best-of-7 NBA playoff series 1-game-all, the Indiana Pacers have a 4-6 series record and a 7-3 Game 3 record (with an active five-Game 3 winning streak), while the New York Knickerbockers have an 8-9 series record and a 6-11 Game 3 record.

After Game 1: The Indiana Pacers visited and defeated the New York Knickerbockers 102-pts-95 to take a 1-game-nil lead in MLB/NBA/NHL best-of-7 playoff series 1212. When leading a best-of-7 NBA playoff series 1-game-nil, the Indiana Pacers have a 9-2 series record and a 7-4 Game 2 record. When trailing a best-of-7 NBA playoff series 1-game-nil, the New York Knickerbockers have a 4-19 series record (with an active four-series losing streak) and a 9-14 Game 2 record (with an active four-Game 2 losing streak).

MLB/NBA/NHL best-of-7 playoff series 1212 is the 23rd best-of-7 NBA playoff series for Indiana, and the 44th for New York.
