With the series 1130 loss, the Washington Capitals see their best-of-7 NHL playoff series record fall to 10-20 overall and 2-7 in the Quarterfinals round. The four-game sweep of best-of-7 playoff series 1130 is the 189th in MLB/NBA/NHL best-of-7 playoff series history (all rounds), the 106th in NHL best-of-7 playoff series history (all rounds), and the 37th in best-of-7 NHL Quarterfinals history. The best-of-7 NHL playoff series upset sweep by the Tampa Bay Lightning is the biggest in terms of regular-season records since series 878, when the old Anaheim Mighty Ducks trailed the Detroit Red Wings by 15 regular-season points, yet swept Detroit 4-games-nil in the 2003 NHL Preliminary round.
