SERIES NOTES:

Post-series assessment: The Chicago Blackhawks defeated the Vancouver Canucks 4-games-2 in MLB/NBA/NHL best-of-7 playoff series 1100. With the series 1100 victory, the Chicago Blackhawks improve their best-of-7 NHL playoff series record to 30-38 overall and 15-6 in the Quarterfinals; with the series 1100 loss, the Vancouver Canucks see their best-of-7 NHL playoff series record fall to 12-16 overall and 2-8 in the Quarterfinals (with an active five-series losing streak). The victorious Chicago Blackhawks in series 1100 posted a win order of LWWWLW: Series 1100 thus becomes the seventh NHL Quarterfinals-round series, the 20th NHL series (all rounds), and the 42nd MLB/NBA/NHL series (all rounds) to follow that win order to completion. Vancouver defeated Chicago 5-goals-1 in series 1100 Game 1: In best-of-7 NHL playoffs, the Vancouver Canucks Game 1 winning streak had thus reached four, while the Chicago Blackhawks Game 1 losing streak had thus reached four as well. In series 1100 Games 3-4, Chicago tallied a total of 12 goals in Vancouver - the most total Games 3-4 goals on the road in a best-of-7 NHL playoff series since series 1033, in which the Detroit Red Wings scored a dozen goals in Games 3-4 in Colorado against the Avalanche in the 2008 NHL Quarterfinals.

Pre-series assessment: In the 2009-10 NHL regular season, the Chicago Blackhawks finished nine points ahead of the Vancouver Canucks. From 1939 through the 2010 NHL Preliminary round, when NHL teams led their best-of-7 playoff series opponents by nine regular-season points, they have posted a 13-15 (.464) best-of-7 series record in those series against those opponents. MLB/NBA/NHL best-of-7 playoff series 1100 is the 28th best-of-7 playoff series for the Vancouver Canucks, and the 68th for the Chicago Blackhawks. In best-of-7 NHL playoff series, Vancouver has a 12-15 series record, a 2-7 Quarterfinals-round series record with an active four-series losing streak, and a 16-11 Game 1 record with an active three-Game 1 winning streak, while Chicago has a 29-38 series record, a 14-6 Quarterfinals-round record, and a 24-43 Game 1 record with an active three-Game 1 losing streak. Series 1100 is the fourth best-of-7 NHL playoff series meeting between Vancouver and Chicago: Vancouver won series 402 (in the 1982 NHL Semifinals), while Chicago won series 684 (in the 1995 NHL Quarterfinals) and series 1067 (in the 2009 NHL Quarterfinals - series 1100 is thus a 2010 NHL Quarterfinals-round rematch of series 1067).
