SERIES NOTES:

Post-series assessment: The Vancouver Canucks swept the St. Louis Blues 4-games-nil to win MLB/NBA/NHL best-of-7 playoff series 1062. With the series 1062 win, the Vancouver Canucks improve their best-of-7 NHL playoff series record to 11-14 overall and 7-6 in the NHL Preliminary round. With the series 1062 loss, the St. Louis Blues see their best-of-7 NHL playoff series record fall to 19-30 overall and 10-9 in the NHL Preliminary round. The four-game best-of-7 NHL playoff series sweep in series 1062 is the first achieved by the Vancouver Canucks, and the seventh suffered by the St. Louis Blues. The one road goal tallied by the St. Louis Blues in the entirety of series 1062 is the lowest such total in a best-of-7 NHL playoff series since series 968, in which the Colorado Avalanche were shut out in Anaheim versus the Mighty Ducks in their 2006 NHL Quarterfinals series (swept by Anaheim, as it were). Series 1062 among MLB/NBA/NHL best-of-7 playoff series thus becomes the 22nd NHL Preliminary-round series, the 100th NHL series (all rounds), and the 176th MLB/NBA/NHL series (all rounds) to end in a four-game sweep.

Pre-series assessment: In the 2008-09 regular season, Vancouver finished eight points ahead of St. Louis. From 1939 through the 2008 NHL Finals, when NHL teams led their best-of-7 playoff series opponents by eight regular-season points, they have posted a 13-6 (.684) best-of-7 series record in those series against those opponents. MLB/NBA/NHL best-of-7 playoff series 1062 is the 49th best-of-7 playoff series for St. Louis, and the 25th for Vancouver. In best-of-7 playoff series, St. Louis has a 19-29 series record, a 10-8 Prelim-round series record, and a 25-23 Game 1 record, while Vancouver has a 10-14 series record, a 6-6 Prelim-round record, and a 13-11 Game 1 record. Series 1062 is the third best-of-7 meeting between St. Louis and Vancouver; Vancouver won the first two.
