After Game 4: The Chicago Bulls visited and defeated the defending NBA champion Miami Heat 92-pts-79, thereby winning best-of-7 MLB/NBA/NHL playoff series 1008 in a 4-games-nil series sweep. The series 1008 victory improves the best-of-7 NBA playoff series records of the Chicago Bulls to 23-15 overall and 1-2 in the Preliminary round. The series 1008 loss lowers the best-of-7 NBA playoff series records of the Miami Heat to 8-5 overall and 3-1 in the Preliminary round. Series 1008 becomes the 999th MLB/NBA/NHL playoff series to be completed in the combined history of the NBA (since 1947), NHL (since 1939), and MLB (since 1905). Series 1008 is the fourth best-of-7 NBA playoff series sweep achieved by Chicago, and the first suffered by Miami. The four-games-nil sweep is the eighth in the NBA Preliminary round, the 48th in the NBA (all rounds), and the 168th in best-of-7 MLB/NBA/NHL playoff series (all rounds).

After Game 3: With best-of-7 MLB/NBA/NHL playoff series 1008 in south Florida for Games 3-4, the Chicago Bulls visited and defeated the Miami Heat 104-pts-96 to take a 3-games-nil lead over the defending NBA champions. When leading a best-of-7 NBA playoff series 3-games-nil, the Chicago Bulls have a series record of 5-0 and a Game 4 record of 3-2. When trailing a best-of-7 NBA playoff series 3-games-nil, the Miami Heat have a series record of 0-1 and a Game 4 record of 1-0 (both in series 742 against the Chicago Bulls, in the 1997 NBA Semifinals; Chicago won series 742 in five games and proceeded to win the 1997 NBA championship).

After Game 2: The Chicago Bulls hosted and defeated the Miami Heat 107-pts-89 to take a 2-games-nil lead in best-of-7 MLB/NBA/NHL playoff series 1008. When leading a best-of-7 NBA playoff series 2-games-nil, the Chicago Bulls have a series record of 12-1 and a Game 3 record of 5-7 (with an active three-Game 3 losing streak). When trailing a best-of-7 NBA playoff game 1-game-nil, the Miami Heat have a series record of 3-3 and a Game 2 record of 3-3 as well.
