SERIES NOTES:

After Game 4: Completing the third four-game sweep of the 2007 NBA Preliminary round, the Cleveland Cavaliers visited and defeated the Washington Wizards 97-pts-90 in best-of-7 MLB/NBA/NHL playoff series 1006 Game 4. Series 1006 thus becomes the 1000th best-of-7 MLB/NBA/NHL playoff series played to completion. With the series 1006 win, the Cleveland Cavaliers improve their series record to 4-4 overall and 2-0 in the NBA Preliminary round. The series 1006 loss lowers the Washington Wizards to an overall series record of 1-3 and to an NBA Preliminary round series record of 1-2. The four-game sweep is the first achieved by the Cleveland Cavaliers, and is the second suffered by the Washington Wizards (which also were swept in series 947 by the Miami Heat, in the 2005 NBA Quarterfinals). Series 1006 thus becomes the ninth NBA Preliminary round series, the 49th NBA series (all rounds), and the 169th MLB/NBA/NHL series (all rounds) to end in a four-game sweep. In NBA Preliminary-round play, teams leading a best-of-7 series three-games-nil are riding a nine-Game 4 winning streak with the Cleveland Game 4 win over Washington.

After Game 3: The Cleveland Cavaliers visited and defeated the Washington Wizards 98-pts-92 to take a 3-games-nil lead in best-of-7 MLB/NBA/NHL playoff series 1006. Thus far in series 1006, Washington has yet to hold a game lead at the end of any quarter of play. The Cleveland Cavaliers are leading a best-of-7 NBA playoff series 3-games-nil for the first time. When trailing a best-of-7 NBA playoff series 3-games-nil, the Washington Wizards have a series record of 0-1 and a Game 4 record of 0-1: In series 947, Washington was swept in four games by the Miami Heat in their 2005 NBA Quarterfinals (Conference Semifinals) series.

After Game 2: The Cleveland Cavaliers hosted and defeated the Washington Wizards 109-pts-102 to take a 2-games-nil lead in best-of-7 MLB/NBA/NHL playoff series 1006. When trailing a best-of-7 NBA playoff series 2-games-nil, Washington (as the Wizards) has a series record of 1-1 and a Game 3 record of 1-1. In the history of best-of-7 NBA playoff series from 1947 through 2006, teams leading 2-games-nil have just under a 25% probability (46 in 193 or .238, to be specific) of sweeping the series, and just over a 56% probability (109 in 193 or .565, to be specific) of winning the series in four or five games.

After Game 1: The Cleveland Cavaliers hosted and defeated the Washington Wizards 97-pts-82 to take a 1-game-nil lead in best-of-7 MLB/NBA/NHL playoff series 1006. Best-of-7 MLB/NBA/NHL playoff series 1006 is the fourth best-of-7 NBA playoff series for Washington (as the Wizards), and the eighth for Cleveland. In best-of-7 NBA playoff series, Washington as the Wizards has a 1-2 series record, a 1-1 Prelim-round series record, and a 0-3 Game 1 record, while Cleveland has a 3-4 series record, a 1-0 Prelim-round record, and a 2-5 Game 1 record.
