After Game 7: Becoming only the fifth NHL team to win a Game 7 by shutout on the road, the Anaheim Mighty Ducks visited and defeated the Calgary Flames 3-goals-nil to secure a 4-games-3 best-of-7 MLB/NBA/NHL playoff series 963 victory. The best-of-7 NHL playoff series record for the Anaheim Mighty Ducks is now 5-3, while that for the Calgary Flames falls to 11-14. The win order for the victorious Anaheim Mighty Ducks was LWLWLWW: Series 963 thus becomes the first NHL Preliminary-round playoff series, the eighth NHL series (all rounds), and the 16th MLB/NBA/NHL series (all rounds) to follow such a win order. Ironically, the last NHL series before series 963 to follow this win order was series 920, in which the Tampa Bay Lightning won the 2004 NHL Finals. The losing team common to series 920 and series 963? The hapless Calgary Flames.

After Game 6: Forcing a best-of-7 MLB/NBA/NHL playoff series 963 Game 7, the Anaheim Mighty Ducks hosted and defeated the Calgary Flames 2-goals-1. The Game 7 record for the Calgary Flames: 5-5. The Game 7 record for the Anaheim Mighty Ducks: 1-1.
