SERIES NOTES:

After Game 5: With best-of-7 MLB/NBA/NHL playoff series 925 back in the Twin Cities for Game 5 after Games 3-4 in Denver, the Minnesota Timberwolves used their home-court advantage to oust the Denver Nuggets 102-pts-91 in a 4-games-1 series 925 victory. The Minnesota Timberwolves now have a 1-1 best-of-7 NBA playoff series record both overall and specifically for the NBA Preliminary round. The Denver Nuggets now have a 0-1 best-of-7 NBA Preliminary-round series record, and a 2-8 best-of-7 NBA series record (all rounds). The win order for the victorious team in series 925 was WWLWW. Series 925 thus becomes the fourth best-of-7 NBA Preliminary-round series, the 35th best-of-7 NBA playoff series (all rounds), and the 79th best-of-7 MLB/NBA/NHL playoff series (all rounds) to follow this win order.

After Game 4: The Minnesota Timberwolves visited and defeated the Denver Nuggets 84-pts-82 in best-of-7 MLB/NBA/NHL playoff series 925 Game 4, thus taking a 3-games-1 series lead. The Minnesota Timberwolves thus lead a best-of-7 NBA playoff series 3-games-1 for the first time. When trailing a best-of-7 NBA playoff series 3-games-1, the Denver Nuggets have a 0-5 overall series record and a 3-2 Game 5 record.

After Game 3: With best-of-7 MLB/NBA/NHL playoff series 925 in the Rocky Mountains for Games 3-4, the Denver Nuggets took advantage of their home court by routing the visiting Minnesota Timberwolves 107-pts-86 in Game 3. The win for Denver was their first best-of-7 NBA playoff game victory since the 1994 Quarterfinals. Minnesota now holds a 2-games-1 series 925 lead. When leading a best-of-7 NBA playoff series 2-games-1, the Minnesota Timberwolves have a 0-1 overall series record and a 0-1 Game 4 record (vs. the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2003 NBA Preliminary round, in best-of-7 series 895). When trailing 2-games-1 in an NBA best-of-7 playoff series, the Denver Nuggets have a 0-4 overall series record and a 1-3 Game 4 record.

After Game 2: Taking a 2-games-nil best-of-7 series lead for the first time in their young history, the Minnesota Timberwolves hosted and defeated the Denver Nuggets 95-pts-81 in series 925 Game 2. When trailing a best-of-7 NBA playoff series 2-games-nil, the Denver Nuggets have a 0-3 series record and a 1-2 Game 3 record.

After Game 1: The Minnesota Timberwolves hosted and defeated the Denver Nuggets 106-pts-92 to take a 1-game-nil lead in best-of-7 playoff series 925. When leading a best-of-7 NBA playoff series 1-game-nil, the Minnesota Timberwolves have a 0-0 overall series record and a 0-0 Game 2 record; when down 1-game-nil, the Denver Nuggets have a 0-5 overall series record and a 2-3 Game 2 record.

Pre-series assessment: In the 2003-04 regular season, Minnesota finished 15 games ahead of Denver. From 1947 through 2003, when NBA teams led their best-of-7 playoff series opponents by 15 regular-season games, they have posted a 4-1 (.800) best-of-7 series record in those series against those opponents. MLB/NBA/NHL best-of-7 series 925 is the tenth best-of-7 playoff series for the Denver Nuggets and the second for the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Minnesota Timberwolves last played in a best-of-7 NBA playoff series in 2003. The Denver Nuggets last did so in 1994, in best-of-7 series 669 (an NBA Quarterfinals-round battle with the Utah Jazz that saw Denver lose the first three games, win Games 4-6, and lose Game 7 and the series). In best-of-7 NBA playoff series, Denver has a 2-7 series record, a 0-0 Prelim-round series record, and a 4-5 Game 1 record, while Minnesota has a 0-1 record, a 0-1 Prelim-round record, and a 0-1 Game 1 record. Series 925 is the first best-of-7 meeting between the Denver Nuggets and the Minnesota Timberwolves.
